“Within One Week, russia Carried out 59 Missile and 36 Air Strikes on Ukraine,” General Staff
It is russia’s strategic goal to destroy Ukraine as a state. Accordingly, the foe concentrates its efforts on key axes of the frontline.
Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Since May 26, russia carried out 59 missile strikes and 36 air strikes on Ukraine. The foe targeted transportation and railway infrastructure. Since the fighting started, the foe flew 5,722 sorties and launched 551 missiles. This figure includes 1,211 sorties, or more than 20%, flown from belarus,” the brigadier general said.
He emphasized that the situation remained critical at all frontline axes.
At the Kharkiv axis, the foe concentrated on retaining its lines. To reduce the assault potential of our forces, the foe shelled positions of Ukraine’s Armed Forces with multiple rocket launchers and conventional artillery near towns and villages of Mykhailivka, Prudianka, and Verkhniy Saltiv.
At the Slovyansk axis, the foe focused on retaining its positions, pursuing reconnaissance, and creating conditions for the resumption of assault. They also shelled areas near Dovhenke, Kurulka, Virnopillia, and Dolyna with artillery.
At the Donetsk axis, the enemy keeps shelling positions of our forces along the entire frontline with mortars and conventional and rocket artillery.
At the Bakhmut axis, the enemy has been storming the city of Komyshuvakha attempting to win control over the city, making some gains; the fighting continues.
At the Siversky axis, the enemy did not pursue active actions. The foe’s units that have sustained losses while fighting in Ukraine are being re-equipped with weapons and military equipment.
The enemy shelled Seredyna-Buda and Progres in Sumy Oblast and Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast with mortars from the russian territory.
In areas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the warships of russia’s Black Sea navy keep engaging in missions aimed at isolating the fighting area, pursuing reconnaissance, and providing fire cover in coastal areas. In addition, the foe keeps taking measures to block civilian navigation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
