“Urging Ukrainians to go abord en masse is inappropriate: we are working to provide people with electricity,” Ukrenergo

Calling Ukrainians to leave the country for several months in order to ease the load on the power grid is currently inappropriate. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, CEO of Ukrenergo National Energy Company made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“We see the role of the energy sector precisely in ensuring the conditions for the functioning of our energy system in a way that will allow Ukrainians to stay in the country and spend the winter here. It is ensuring that the energy system meets the needs of Ukrainians for electricity as best as possible that our daily battle includes. Yes, we currently have planned outages for several hours, we are trying to make them more comfortable so that the consumer knows when these outages occur and can plan their day. I believe that the call for a mass departure of Ukrainians abroad is currently inappropriate,” — Kudrytskyi said.
