There is no official data on Mykolaiv joining the “grain corridor” – Vitalii Kim

Progress is being made in opening ports in the Mykolaiv region, but there is no official data that Mykolaiv can join the “grain corridor.”

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, made the relevant statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“There has surely been progress. The Ministry and the Office have been working on Mykolaiv port to join the grain export corridor from the very beginning of the aggression. Despite the statements claiming ship withdrawal from Mykolaiv’s waters, I have no official information on Mykolaiv the grain corridor join. Everyone is working on it, but I cannot officially confirm it now.”

Mr. Kim noted that the issue of vessels leaving the waters of Mykolaiv port depends on political decisions.

“I think all vessels that want to leave the Mykolaiv port water area should do so except for Russian or Belarusian ships that are under arrest, if any. But because of the threat from the Kinburn Spit and the shelling, the last time we tried to take out two Nibulon barges, this issue was on hold. It’s all set. We are on standby to have ships, both foreign and our own, held up by the war in Ukraine to leave the country’s Black Sea. So it can dock in a safer region. But it all depends on political decisions.”
