There are countries on the ground to support Ukraine in the fight for children abducted by Russia – Daria Herasymchuk

The united joint efforts can help not only Ukrainian children taken illegally by Russia, but can also focus on developing a global new system of security for children around the world.

It was emphasized by Daria Herasymchuk, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children’s Rights and Rehabilitation, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“There are countries that stand ready to assist Ukraine to support its struggle for Ukrainian children. We still hope that this cooperation between the countries will be effective, and we will be able to get proper assistance and fight together to develop a world new system of child safety restraint around the globe, although we are now talking about Ukrainian children,” she emphasized.

At the same time, she noted that there are still countries and figures who do not take a stance towards the issue of Ukrainian children subjected to unlawful transfer to Russia. “I would like to draw attention to the fact that there are still countries and public figures who are trying to use smoke and mirrors to distort the truth. They can say that, for example, children adopted in Russia may be better off staying with the criminals who forcibly transferred them. Maybe we shouldn’t be so proactive, that probably (various international organizations – ed.) don’t have a mandate to inquire into, monitor, to get data. So I want to encourage each and every NGO in Ukraine or other countries, the European Union, the UN structures with my every single word to pursue their efforts to actively support Ukraine, because that’s what we need because that’s crucial,” added Daria Herasymchuk.
