The First Electricity Turning-On in Kherson Will Occur in a Week; the City Could Be Completely Provided with Electricity and Water in About a Month — Deputy of Oblast Council

Electricity supply to certain areas of Kherson city will start in as little as a week, but the full resumption of power supply will take time. Serhii Khlan, Deputy of Kherson Oblast Council, made this statement during the briefing in the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“It was announced that the first power supply to Kherson city will start in a week; this is how the regional power company reports. Accordingly, we can expect restoration of both water and heat supply to meet the basic needs of the city residents. It is worth noting that electricity and water supply will not be restored in a week: only certain areas of Kherson could be provided. It is not yet possible to fully provide the city with electricity: the critical infrastructure has been very seriously and extensively destroyed,” Serhii Khlan said.

According to the Deputy of Kherson Oblast Council, the plans to ensure the first power supply in a week are to be implemented by the repair teams, which now work 24/7 in two directions: Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih. Water supply should be expected after the restoration of electricity.

“We are talking about water supply as a derivative of electricity. But we must understand that water supply will be restored a little later, because the water supply infrastructure has also been damaged. Everything will recover gradually. It is assumed to be able to completely provide Kherson with electricity and water in about a month,” Serhii Khlan said.
