Program to support veteran businesses #SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN starting in Ukraine

“Veterans’ entrepreneurial activity is not just an effective tool for the social rehabilitation of veterans, which positively contributes to the return to civilian life. It also significantly affects the development of our country as a whole,” — Maksym Kushnir, General Director of the Directorate of Civil Identity and Veteran Development, made this statement at a presentation of the first 2023 veteran business financing program #SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

Maksym Kushnir noted that there are two important key aspects in terms of the development of veteran business and initiatives — legislative and practical ones.

“As for the legislation issue: the Ministry of Veterans Affairs team has developed a draft law, which for the first time enshrined such concepts as “veteran entrepreneurship” and “veteran entrepreneurial initiatives (in the law). As for the practical component, we place great emphasis on the introduction of worthy financial instruments that will provide an opportunity and incentive to develop the veteran business,” — he noted.

Talking about the #SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN project, the General Director of the Directorate of Civil Identity and Veteran Development pointed out that it was because of the synergy of big business and the state that the implementation of this program became possible.

“This is the first step, and we will not stop at it. The key goal of the #SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN program is to support and implement the development of veteran entrepreneurship and initiatives in the areas of agricultural production and processing.”
