Energy experts know how to prevent blackout, but some Ukrainians may celebrate the New Year in extremely difficult conditions — Energy Industry Research Center

There is information in open sources that the russists aim to leave Ukrainians without electricity during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director at the Energy Industry Research Center commented on the likelihood of such a situation during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“The lessons we have already learned give (us) strength. Dispatchers and engineers have already understood how to act so that we do not get into a situation like November 23, when there really was a blackout. So I absolutely believe they can prevent massive uncontrolled outages. Perhaps some Ukrainians will be forced to celebrate the New Year in extremely difficult conditions. And here the only thing I can do is call on those who have a house and a generator to invite their friends from Kyiv. Friends from Kyiv, for their part, (should) look for friends with a generator and a house for the New Year. It will be really necessary. I think it will be even more fun to be together,” — Kharchenko explained.
