Almost 75% of Students Study Online: We Advise Parents to Discuss with Teachers What Their Children Do Online — State Service for Education Quality
Now almost 75% of Ukrainian students are studying online, so the topic of children’s safety on the Internet is very important. Ruslan Hurak, Head of the State Service for Education Quality of Ukraine, told this during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“For us, as the State Service for Education Quality, the safety of children during their studies is very important, and especially at remote learning. Currently, almost 75% of students study online. Teachers must explain to children how to use the Internet. But there is a situation where we shift the responsibility: parents believe that teachers will do it, and teachers believe that parents will do it. I would like to draw absolutely everyone’s attention to this. Do communicate and discuss this issue. When you see that your child spends a lot of time online learning, please discuss with the teacher why this happens so. Was such a scope of tasks really assigned that the child is forced to spend a lot of time and effort? Do not expect anyone to do it instead of you,” Ruslan Hurak said.
