Social Policy Ministry finalizing tool to help low-income citizens — First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine
The Ministry of Social Policy is finalizing a program to help low-income citizens. They plan to implement it next year. The program will be useful for every struggling family. About one million households are expected to be able to receive assistance, Daryna Marchak, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine said at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Now we are updating and finalizing this tool of assistance to low-income citizens in order to, so to speak, create an instrument for a family with income below a certain level to be sure that it will turn to the state, and the state can quickly make additional payments to the family. This way (the family’s income) will reach a level that will be higher than the legally established living wage. We expect that about a million Ukrainian households and families will be able to receive assistance via this (program), excluding a significant number of pensioners who, in our opinion, can or should get access to this tool too,” — Daryna Marchak said.
The Deputy Minister of Social Policy noted that this program will start working only in 2023, provided that MPs support it when adopting the State Budget Law.
