Slovakia-Ukraine border blockade: 650 trucks currently in line
At the end of last week, Slovakia’s Union of Carriers again started the protest to block traffic for trucks at the Vyšné Nemecké – Uzhhorod border checkpoint. As of the morning of Monday, December 4, there were 650 cargo vehicles in line to cross the border to Ukraine from the territory of Slovakia at this checkpoint.
Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“But the protestors reported that they would let four trucks per hour pass in the direction of Ukraine, and the movement of cargo vehicles from Ukraine to Slovakia would not be blocked, and that, in fact, they would not block humanitarian and other important cargoes. What we are currently recording is a decrease, not a critical one, but a decrease in freight traffic going through the Ukrainian checkpoint “Uzhhorod” from Slovakia,” Andrii Demchenko noted.
