The topic of russia’s aggression against Ukraine is also one on everyone’s mind during the election process in Türkiye. And each party involved in the election process emphasizes its readiness to pursue further mediation services and promote peace.

It was emphasized by Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Türkiye, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“Fortunately, none of the serious political forces during the parliamentary elections and the presidential campaign expressed any serious remarks about Ukraine or any anti-Ukrainian slogans,” he said.

In addition, Vasyl Bodnar noted that, in general, a lot has already been achieved in relations with Türkiye during the presidency of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“We also hope that in case of a change of government, the strategic interests will remain intact, as they are based on the strategic interests of both Ukraine and Türkiye. These are bilateral agreements on defense, trade, tourism, and transportation. It’s the fundamental basis of our relations, and neither side has declared a possible change in this process.”
