Recovery Window media network presents expert base for community members
The operational team of the Recovery Window network has created an “Experts” section on its website for community members, a database of specialists in legal, urban planning and content issues, which is open to expansion.
Representatives of the Recovery Window media network spoke about this during a presentation at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We are networking journalists and experts, uniting them, monitoring the process. Our task is to fill the media space with quality materials about the recovery and tell it as it is. In essence, we are also countering russian narratives both abroad and within Ukraine that suggest that Ukraine cannot succeed. Through the work of our journalists on the ground, we are showing that recovery is happening while addressing the challenges that exist,” said Anastasiia Rudenko, co-founder and coordinator of the Recovery Window network.
For this, the website has created an “Experts” section, which can be accessed by Recovery Window partners after registration. Experts and expert organizations that can assist journalists with information on various aspects of Ukraine’s recovery can be found both by searching and by relevant categories. If the required expert is not found in the database, there is a feedback function where users can leave a request for the type of expertise they need.
The expert database contains all the necessary information to contact experts directly or with the help of Recovery Window specialists.
The platform also provides an opportunity for experts to join the database and provide valuable information on issues related to Ukraine’s recovery.
At present, the expert database is almost exclusively filled with representatives of the network’s partner organizations. However, there are plans to expand it.
“In fact, we now want to go beyond the network and expand the expert base. For example, we want to invite representatives of institutions that are not members of the network, especially international organizations, who are willing and able to share their knowledge. And it is really important that we make this process democratic in the sense that we ask them to fill out an application, to give us all the information about themselves for analysis, and there is a control stage on our side. We vet the organizations that are part of the network in the same way, using open monitoring tools, available data aggregators, and reputation control. The same goes for the experts. This is our approach,” said Anastasiia Rudenko.
The expert database and participation details can be found on the Recovery Window media network website.
For reference: The Recovery Window media network was launched in January 2024. Its mission is to unite independent media, NGOs and analytical centers to communicate transparently and effectively on a single platform about the recovery of all affected regions. Currently, Recovery Window brings together more than 100 independent, mostly regional media, NGOs and analytical centers working on various aspects of Ukraine’s recovery.
