Presence of enemy aircraft is large: Yurii Ihnat on current situation in the sky at the front line

Currently, there are about 20 enemy planes in the sky at the front line.

Yurii Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“If we take the current situation, we can say that today the aircraft activity actually started at night, even before the strike. Because at 4:00 AM there were already quite a lot of aircraft, several dozen. In addition to missiles there were over 20 air targets in the sky in the occupied territory, also in the north, from Kharkiv region – Bryansk, Kursk region, as well as in the water areas of both seas,” he said.

Yurii Ihnat emphasized that the enemy is currently just as active as they were at night, and according to him, there are also about 20 planes in the sky now.

“These are reconnaissance planes and drones, which are constantly on the front line, and also fighter jets, which we can see now on our radars. In addition, attack aircraft are still active. These are once again Su-25 close air support aircraft, once again Ka-52 helicopters, which can simply be there and not be seen, because they fly quite low, clinging to the ground in order to attack our defense forces. The enemy’s aviation presence is large,” he noted.

At the same time, Yurii Ihnat noted that in order to reduce enemy aviation activity, Ukraine needs F-16s.
