Political demarche over Ukrainian grain exports plays into the hands of the aggressor – Denys Marchuk
A number of the European bloc’s eastern flank political demarche over the export of Ukrainian farm produce is beneficial for the aggressor country, Russia.
It was emphasized by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Councill, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“This entire ban, all these countries’ political demarche, actually plays into the hands of one country—the aggressor country of Russia, which today, being in a position to influence the course of ships in the Black Sea, restrain Ukraine from fully exporting at full capacity,” he explained.
Denys Marchuk added that the ban on shipping in the Black Sea and the inability to carry out full exports via land routes will provoke an aggravation of the food crisis, which is beneficial for Russia.
Despite the European Commission’s decision, Poland and Hungary have announced that they will extend the Ukrainian grain import ban. At the same time, the Slovak government announced the introduction of unilateral restrictions on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine until the end of the year.
At the same time, on September 18, Ukraine filed lawsuits in the WTO against Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary over the grain import ban.
