People returning to Mykolaiv region: population increases by 50,000–70,000 in regional center and by over 100,000 in oblast; business recovering — Vitalii Kim

Residents are returning to Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv region, enterprises are gradually resuming their work, although business activity is currently weak. Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“People are returning: the population has increased by 50,000-70,000 in the regional center, by more than 100,000 in the oblast. Big business is not coming back yet, it is assessing the risks because many businesses have been relocated within 3-4 months. It’s time and money, so I don’t think they will return immediately. This will take some time for a large business. But a certain number of large entrepreneurs are returning and expanding their activities here. As for essential small and medium-sized businesses that provide services, they are coming back. But business activity is currently very weak, we need time and safer conditions, and preferably a grain corridor, so that business activity could increase significantly,” — Kim said.
