On July 31, the first mobile shelter will be installed in Odesa

It was purchased at the expense of the city budget and will be installed near a school in one of the city’s residential areas. This was stated by Oleksandr Voitko, director and founder of Miradima LLC, a manufacturer of mobile shelters, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“The school year will start on September 1, and we need to build shelters to save children. On July 31, we will install the first shelter at the 13th station of the Big Fountain near the lyceum. By the end of the summer, we will set up two more shelters in another district of Odesa. They will be able to protect from debris and shrapnel, but not from a direct hit by a rocket or air bomb,” – Mr. Voitko said.

He added that the company plans to install shelters not only in Odesa, but in the region, and not only near educational institutions. Everything will depend on funding. The company’s facilities allow it to produce more than 30 shelters per month.

Class 4 shelters will be installed in Odesa, said Ilya Blokhin, head of the SafePlace4UA project and the “Yunist 2.0” (Youth 2.0) charitable organization. Previously, he was involved in the installation of similar mobile shelters in Kherson and Mykolaiv.

“Shelters from the same contractor were installed in Kherson for the local Red Cross office. This is a certain guarantee of the quality of the products. The shelters are made of high grade concrete and with high levels of reinforcement. The thickness of the top slab is 40 centimetres, the bottom slab – 20 centimetres, and the wall thickness is 30 centimetres,” – Blokhin added.
