Occupants started issuing russian passports to 14-year-old teenagers – human rights activist

The occupants are trying to select healthy children through forced medical filtration. This was stated by Vira Yastrebova, a lawyer and director of the NGO “Shidna Pravosazahisna Grupa” (Eastern Human Rights Group), at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

The human rights activist added that while the occupants used to subject orphans to this procedure, now they are checking schoolchildren and kindergarteners.

“This medical filtration is a mandatory procedure. Its results are then entered into a special database, which then becomes the basis for deportation. They select healthy Ukrainians and then forcefully turn them into russians. And they issue russian passports to children who have reached the age of 14,” – Yastrebova noted.

She added that human rights activists have documented cases when parents of children refused to undergo the passportization procedure.

“One resident of Soledar refused to issue a passport to her child. But the occupants forced her to change her mind, saying that by doing so she would deprive her child of the right to education and medical care,” – Yastrebova added.

She also added that in this way the occupants are forcing pensioners to become russian citizens, depriving them of pensions and medical services.
