Most of the Fined Oblenergo Entities Are Far from the Front Line: Working Carelessly Blaming On the War Is Not an Option — Energy Industry Research Center

Recently, the National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities (NCSREU) has fined several Oblenergo companies. Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director at the Energy Industry Research Center, commented on such decisions during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“I support the pressure of the regulatory authority, because many Oblenergo companies simply proceeded in a slipshod manner with the issues of developing, keeping the schedules, and clearly working with switching during the schedules implementation. If they did not understand on their own how important this issue is for people, first of all, because in this way they make the actually predictable situation unpredictable. When people are turned off out of turn because Oblenergo, beg your pardon, was too lazy to correctly draw up a schedule, this is the fault of a particular Oblenergo entity. Therefore, I believe that the regulatory authority’s actions are absolutely justified in this situation. Market participants should feel they are controlled. And working any which way blaming on the fact that we have a war and problems… Especially when most of these fined Oblenergo companies are very far from the front line. So, work hard, guys. There are already people’s feedback that the situation in the first fined Oblenergo companies has changed and the quality of schedules improves,” Oleksandr Kharchenko said.
