Melitopol Locals Rejected invaders’ “Vote,” Voting “In Favor” of russia only on Pain of Torture

The russians were unable to find enough members for their “electoral commission.” Melitopol’s locals did not want to collaborate. By the third day of “voting,” the invaders found that only 20% of locals would agree to participate in the fake referendum. Melitopol residents tend not to open their apartment doors and house gates to let russian representatives in.

Ivan Fedorov, Melitopol’s mayor, stated this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Out of 20%, only 10% supported the “referendum” and gave an “aye” vote. However, we can say even in this case that it is an expression of their fear caused by force and torture perpetrated by the invaders, and not their genuine opinion,” he said.

The voting takes place at gunpoint, with people stopped on the street and forced to cast a vote for themselves and their entire families.

The “referendum” in the occupied territory is held to start mobilizing men in these territories. Men aged 18 to 35 are not permitted to go through the Vasylivka checkpoint. From yesterday on, they stopped letting anyone out,” Ivan Fedorov said.

According to the mayor, locals are frightened and panicked because the invaders can start drafting men into russia’s military from tomorrow on.
