In Lviv Oblast, there are currently 633 internally displaced children without parents. These children came here as a part of organized groups (from boarding schools, shelters, or social/psychological rehabilitation centers). Of them, 344 are orphan children. Volodymyr Lys, Head of the Office of Children Services of the Lviv Oblast Military Administration, reported this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“These are children from Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts. Children from Kyiv Oblast have already returned… In the oblast, there are also 10 family-type orphanages with almost 100 children, which came here from other regions, and 8 foster families,” Volodymyr Lys said.
According to him, the Office of Children Services of the Lviv Oblast Military Administration and partners are preparing facilities to accommodate several more family-type orphanages that had been evacuated abroad earlier.
