German “business angels” are ready to invest in small Ukrainian startups with 10–15 employees

Priority will be given to those companies that want to stay in Ukraine. This was stated by Sebastian Schwenke, CEO of Business-Angel Verband Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

Their aim is to develop Ukraine according to modern standards, to become a bridge between our business and foreign ones.

“We have funds and knowledge, and we are ready to help small teams of 10-15 people in their development. We have already decided on the startups that we should pay attention to, and when we return to Germany, we will use the knowledge gained in Ukraine for practical work,” – the businessman said.

Stefan Schandera, a member of the Business-Angel Verband Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., added that the goal of businessmen is to invest in companies that want to stay in Ukraine.

“We have found a lot of interesting projects in Odesa, including education, medical technology, digitalization, and agriculture. And we want to invest in those who will work in Ukraine, we don’t want to move startups to Germany,” Shandera added.

According to Yan Shapiro, founder of the U-nation project, which aims to introduce business angels to Ukrainian startup projects, the project has already held business forums in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, and Odesa.
