French Ambassador to Odesa: Support for the humanitarian corridor, as well as Ukrainian education, science and culture

There are great hopes for Odesa, because it is through its ports that humanitarian corridors pass through which the world market successfully receives Ukrainian grain. This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Gael Veyssiere at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Gael Veyssiere during a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, France has been and is standing side by side with Ukraine, providing support in the humanitarian sphere, cooperating with various non-governmental organizations and generally developing various formats of support at the national level. And we have to continue this work in the future,” Mr. Ambassador assured.

During his visit, the French delegation visited the port, held meetings with the city and regional authorities, military leadership in the region, and visited universities and museums in Odesa.

“In the military sphere, our support is very close and consistent. We cooperate with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and we have a large program of supplying anti-aircraft weapons, including to Odesa, which is especially important on the eve of winter,” Gael Veyssiere emphasized.

The ambassador noted that France is now actively helping Ukrainian rescuers with various equipment, ranging from fire trucks to watercraft.

Mr. Ambassador pays special attention to cooperation in the field of cultural heritage protection.

“We support the Odesa Art Museum. We have recently implemented a project to train specialists in this field, and we provide scholarships to both Odesa teachers and students in the humanities and sciences. Despite the war, we are already thinking about the future and trying to prepare it with such efforts,” assured Gael Veyssiere.

“Our assistance to Ukraine and Ukrainians will not end, because we see our future together – together in the European Union,” the ambassador summarized.
