“Foreign investors are eager to support Ukraine, but we need to make sure they feel comfortable,” Executive Director of European Business Association
Foreign investors sympathize with Ukrainians and are really eager to support the country. However, they require security guarantees, Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association said at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Of course, their desire to come to Ukraine is connected to different things. It is the desire to make money, the desire to do a good deed, the desire to support the country. Look, the desire to support the country is huge. We can all see the compassion for our citizens, for our state,” — Anna Derevyanko said.
Despite this, according to her, investors are currently not investing a “serious amount of money” in Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure they trust the state and feel comfortable.
“It is necessary to create a proper judicial system, it is necessary to make sure the investor feels comfortable and trusts the state in which they work. If this happens, everything will be fine, the investor will come. Of course, we still need state guarantees. To be honest, it wouldn’t hurt, because in many cases security guarantees and war risks insurance are generally required,” — Anna Derevyanko noted.
