Fedir Venislavskyi: state budget for 2024 prioritizes security and defense sector
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine see the need to prioritize state funding of the security and defense sector in the next year’s state budget.
Fedir Venislavskyi, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Representative of the President of Ukraine to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“This sector’s funding remains at the same level, it is slightly increasing, as it was last year. I want to remind you that last year’s draft law and the law on the state budget had an unprecedented level of spending on security and defense in particular. If we look at the revenue part and expenses, then in fact all the money that Ukraine collected from domestic resources was directed to the security and defense sector. And, once again, this trend has been fully preserved this year – in fact, all state budget revenue, which is planned in the draft law, is directed to the security and defense sector. Everything else will be funded via state borrowing on the domestic and foreign markets,” he said.
At the same time, Fedir Venislavskyi emphasized that next year GDP growth is projected to reach at least 5%.
