“Evacuation in the event of an attack on the South Ukrainian NPP: we are working on renewing the bus fleet,” Vitaliy Kim

Due to the fact that a lot of transport was mobilized for the military, Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration is currently working on renewing the bus fleet to be able to quickly evacuate people from the area near the South Ukraine NPP in the event of an attack by the occupiers. Vitaliy Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Now there is not enough (transport) to evacuate (people) at a fast pace, we will have to make several rounds, and we are working on logistics so that transport, buses, and other vehicles can evacuate (people) via a short route. We are attracting private businesses and so on, so that they can transport  (people) via a short route to a distance beyond a 30-kilometer zone. And then, other means of transport will carry (people) farther. But this is also not enough to ensure a fast pace, we are asking for additional buses,” — Vitaliy Kim noted.

Kim also commented on the recent attack by the occupiers on the South Ukraine NPP when a missile struck 300 meters from the nuclear reactors.

“Preliminarily, our specialists have determined that this is probably an Iskander-type missile. It is very accurate, so we believe that this is a deliberate strike near the nuclear plant in order to cause minor damage and to make a show and to blackmail the Ukrainian people in the future,” — Vitaliy Kim said.
