During Martial Law, 9764 Children Have Been Reported Missing, Including 323 in the Territory of Combat Operations — the National Police

Since the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, the National Police has received 9631 reports of missing children — they concern 9764 minors. Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate of the National Police, made this statement during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Since the introduction of martial law on the territory of Ukraine, as of today, the National Police has received 9631 reports of 9764 children missing. Currently, 347 children are being actively searched for. 323 of them were missing in the territory of military operations,” Yaroslav Shanko said.

The Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate spoke about the measures to search for missing children.

“The Juvenile Prevention Directorate takes measures to activate the search for children by creating a Telegram chat bot, with the express aim of simplifying the procedure for making a statement of a child missing, its immediate registration and response. Also, juvenile police officers take measures to improve the children search system by developing a comprehensive system of notification of Ukrainian citizens about missing children, by sending them informative messages,” the expert added.
