Draft law in Verkhovna Rada could significantly simplify process of updating conscripts’ data

There are a number of draft laws dealing with the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers that are currently under consideration in the Verkhovna Rada. One of such draft laws, which should improve the work of these centers, introduces the synchronization of the “Oberih” unified electronic register of military conscripts with other registers of state authorities. Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Fitio, Head of the Public Relations Service of the Land Forces Command, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“If this draft law is adopted, then in accordance with it, “Oberih” electronic register of conscripts will receive data from other registers. This includes marital status, education, birth of children, profession, work and other necessary data,” Volodymyr Fitio explained.

The system is now 90% filled.

“All paper files are being transferred into electronic form. But now conscripts still have to personally come to their territorial centers in order to update their data. That is, they have to be there physically and bring photocopies of certain documents. If there is, for example, a student studying full-time, he must once a year bring a certificate from his university that he really studies there,” Volodymyr Fitio added.

When the synchronization between all databases begins to work, there will be no need to appear in person in territorial recruitment centers.
