Desertion trend increases in occupation forces – Natalia Humeniuk
Despite the report from the enemy’s Internet public pages, no “Wagner” units actually arrived in Kherson region. At the same time, desertion levels have increased in the occupying forces.
Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“We are recording the arrival of the russian guards and Kadyrovites, and this happened a few weeks ago, in order to deter desertion sentiments among the occupying troops themselves. Because based on the consequences of the hostilities that they can observe along the Zaporizhia axis, based on powerful counter-battery combat that they become victims of in the Kherson sector, they themselves record an increased desertion movement. Therefore, locally stationed units, which have already got more or less familiar with Kherson region, are looking for ways to pass as civilians. That is, the cases of the occupiers changing into civilian clothes and trying to blend in with the civilian population, to get on the so-called evacuation buses in order to leave this territory, are happening again,” she said.
