Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Told What Percentage of the FREEDOM TV Channel Audience Accounts for Audience from russia
FREEДОМ, the russian-language TV channel launched by Ukraine, primarily works for the audience in russia. Taras Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, made this report during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform. He also gave details about the audience of the TV channel.
“The total number of views of content of the FREEDOM russian-language marathon for all time — and recall that the TV channel started its operation in March — crossed the 4 billion mark. In September, for example, it also had such a local record — 500 million views. According to Google Analytics, the audience from russia is about 53%, and we know that Kazakhstan ranks second. Thus, it is definitely not a channel made for the Ukrainian audience, as it may often be distortedly presented,” Taras Shevchenko explained.
He also explained why operation of a russian-language TV channel is essential.
“It is sharing reliable information to citizens of the russian federation that is one of the most important tasks. Since this may, and I am convinced that this affects the course of military operations. It brings our victory closer and helps convey the truth about Ukraine,” Taras Shevchenko said.
