Czech volunteers are collecting money for a helicopter for Ukrainian defenders
Czech volunteers who have already raised money for a tank for Ukrainian soldiers, purchased it and sent it to the frontline, have now announced a fundraiser for the legendary American Black Hawk helicopter.
Jan Polak, a Czech volunteer and representative of the NGO “A Gift for Putin,” said this at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.
“We decided to help Ukraine and received a request for the supply of a Black Hawk helicopter, its price is just over 4 million euros. We announced the collection on November 17. After the first week, we raised more than 10 percent of the total amount. This makes us optimistic that we will definitely buy this helicopter for Ukrainians,” the volunteer said.
Another reason for the collection is to remind Europeans that the war in Ukraine is ongoing.
“Ukrainians have been fighting for two years now, it is a bloody war, we want Czechs to remember this and know that even a small donation can save lives,” said Jan Polak.
The volunteer reminded that Czechs remember the times of Soviet occupation well.
“We understand that you are now fighting for your freedom and defending your independence. And we know your enemy very well,” the volunteer emphasized.
He said that in addition to the Czechs, the organization is now receiving help from Slovakia, Hungary, the United States, and Canada, but the majority, 95%, are Czechs.
Jan Polak showed that you can not only donate, but also buy T-shirts or other merchandise with a picture of a helicopter. But this is not the only collection of Czech volunteers.
“We are also collecting money for armored vehicles for the International Legion in Ukraine and for a thousand RPGs for the 41st Battalion, as well as for tactical medicine training and demining equipment. Our goal is to inspire the Americans to send even more equipment to defeat Russia. We already have such an example in our baggage: we collected and bought a tank for Ukrainian defenders, and after that the Americans were inspired and began to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine” the Czech volunteer emphasized and added that you can join the campaign at https://www.podarunokputinu.org.ua/kampane/cestmir
