Codification of about 10 EW systems of second generation currently underway – General Staff

To date, Ukraine has codified about 10 electronic warfare (EW) systems, and codification procedures are currently underway for about 10 new-generation devices.

Ivan Pavlenko, Head of the Main Directorate for Electronic and Cyber Warfare of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“As for the so-called means of short-range radio-electronic warfare, or as they are also called trench EW. This is just one of the niches of electronic warfare, in fact there are many of them, as electronic warfare ranges from space systems to the simplest small devices. To date, we have codified about 10 systems, most of which are Ukrainian made. Currently, codification measures for about 10 other systems are underway. I would say that these are second-generation devices, because there is continuous development in this area – literally every three or four months there is some kind of change, new data transfer protocols, new frequency bands appear, and all this requires a very quick reaction from our manufacturers,” he said.
