A roundtable on “Employment for persons with disabilities: European perspectives in Ukraine”

The event will feature two-panel discussions:
1. Employment of people with disabilities: Ukrainian and European experience
2. What is necessary to change in the employment policy, and how the draft law 5344-d will contribute to this

Why is it interesting?

Statistically, only 17% of people with disabilities are currently employed in Ukraine. This figure is many times higher in European countries. The current state of things in Ukraine can be changed in two to three years. It’s possible to reach 50% of employed people by implementing a number of changes during this time. The profile ministries, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and NGO representatives will hold discussions on critical issues regarding people with disabilities’ employment legislation. Experts will also share European experience in solving the problem and Council of Europe standards on that issue.
