Air-raid sirens go off throughout Ukraine, but russian media are unlikely to say it’s a signal due to the arrival of the American leader in Kyiv — Ihnat
After it became known that U.S. President Joe Biden had arrived in Kyiv, air alerts were issued across the country. Iurii Ihnat, Speaker of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commented on the situation during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Air Raid Alert Map of Ukraine is all red. Obviously, there is a threat to the entire territory of the state. It happens when MiG-31K interceptor jets of the russian Air Force carrying Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles take off in the north. The aircraft can take off in Belarus and Russia, thus threatening our country. Whether it could be connected to the US president’s visit is up to you to draw your own conclusions. These flights take place virtually every day. I think it can hardly be considered as some kind of signal by russian media. They will give it out for scheduled flights. We monitor the air raid alert map and urge you to observe it despite other events taking place in our country,” Ihnat said.
