“After yesterday’s shelling of Kyiv region, 35 people are injured, 5 are dead, the youngest wounded person is five years old,” Head of Kyiv Oblast Police

Yesterday, there was a massive shelling of practically the entire territory of Ukraine, including Kyiv region, where 35 people were injured, five were killed. Andrii Nebytov, Head of Kyiv Oblast Police made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“I want to point out that the most terrible attack happened near a high-rise building in Vyshhorod. Four high-rise buildings, a kindergarten and a school were significantly damaged. Eight detached houses were destroyed. We have 35 casualties, the woman who died this morning is the fifth victim of this explosion. 30 people remain injured, they are getting medical assistance and are staying in hospital. Six children were slightly injured, the youngest girl is 5 years old, they are all right,” — Nebytov said.

The Head of Kyiv Oblast Police noted that the bodies of the dead were found near the house, one body was in the apartment and three people died in the hospital.

“The alert lasted a long time, but people did not take shelter. This case shows that there is no such thing as a safe area, wherever you live. We urge people not to ignore air alerts. Believe me, if the residents of these buildings had gone to the shelter, they would have remained alive and well,” — Nebytov added.
