After the war, new construction standards are needed for the introduction of energy-efficient technologies – an expert

A systematic approach is required for the transition to the new rules – foreign partners can help with this. Such an opinion was expressed by Kostyantyn Krynytskyi, head of the energy department, NGO “Ekodiya” (Ecoaction) at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“Small local projects to install solar panels or heat pumps are good. Energy decentralization is required, but this is not a systematic approach. We advocate changing building standards and norms to immediately install and renew energy sources. To have the highest class of energy efficiency of buildings. There is experience in the Scandinavian countries”, – the expert said.

He added that international partners interested in restoring Ukraine using “green” technologies need to demonstrate readiness for the implementation of such projects by local governments.

“We try to show Germans and Americans that there are municipalities that are ready to co-finance post-war reconstruction projects using renewable energy sources. We have to show that there is an interest in Ukraine in this project even during the war, especially by the local government,” – the expert added.
