Advisor to Ukrainian PM: to pass next winter, we must rely on all equipment that can be restored within next 6-7 months
This year, the standard set of tasks in preparation for the winter season will include the restoration of the infrastructure that was damaged in rocket attacks.
Yuriy Boyko, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
He noted that today the preparation for winter will involve a number of issues specifically related to the war. However, according to him, the standard approach to preparing for the autumn-winter heating season requires clear understanding of organizational and technical measures to be taken.
“The technical measures, which to some extent will be a novelty for this season, definitely include the effort to build up those generating capacities that can be promptly deployed. And which will also fall in line with the implementation of the decentralized generation program,” — he said.
“Of course, we are talking about gas turbine power plants that can be quickly placed and quickly connected to the grid, so that they, accordingly, could breathe life (into the grid) and start working to generate electricity. These certainly also include biogas plants modified to locally available fuel.”
