About 80% of Israeli citizens support Ukraine in the war

Israeli citizens have supported Ukraine since the first days of the war started by russia.

Yevgen Korniychuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Israel, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Even before this large-scale terrorist attack in Israel, we had public opinion polls conducted, we know that about 80% of Israeli citizens actively or passively support Ukraine in its war,” he said.

At the same time, Yevgen Korniychuk expressed the opinion that in the context of recent events in Israel, not only citizens and Israeli society, but also the Israeli government will become more pro-Ukrainian.  

“Since the position of the russian federation is objectively clear, as russia has repeatedly expressed its support for Hamas and offered to mediate (tensions – Ed.), and, as a matter of fact, all Iranian proxies that have revealed themselves in this war and this large-scale terrorist attack against the State of Israel. Unfortunately, we are not close to the resolution of these events, since there is a threat from the north, from Lebanon from Hezbollah, there is a threat from the territory of Syria, there is a threat from the territory of Yemen, that is, there are certain centers of tension that Iranian proxies are using against Israel. And it is absolutely obvious that we have a common enemy, and we should be more consolidated together with the people of Israel against our enemies and aim at helping each other,” explained Yevgen Korniychuk.
