“A lot of work has been done to restore backbone infrastructure, Kherson oblast remains a sore spot,” Ukrenergo

Over the past week, the employees of Ukrenergo performed a great deal of work on the restoration of facilities of the backbone infrastructure. The situation in Kherson oblast remains difficult. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, CEO of Ukrenergo National Energy Company made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Over the past week, a lot of work has been done to restore major infrastructure facilities. First of all, we are talking about major substations. Many network problems, restrictions or bottlenecks in the grid that existed due to previous shelling have been eliminated. The only extremely sore spot remains Kherson region. There, the reason for the insufficient capacity of the networks lies not in the past attack on November 15, but in the fact that during the de-occupation of Kherson and Kherson region, the occupier practically destroyed the power grid in this region and mined it,” — Kudrytskyi explained.

Ukrenergo CEO noted that the repairmen of the National Energy Company and the repairmen of the corresponding “Oblenergo” agencies are examining those power lines that connect Kherson region with other regions of Ukraine together with the sappers, so that the military engineers can demine these lines, and the power engineers could repair them.

“All our efforts are now focused on this, the efforts of our field brigades are focused on this to restore electricity supply to Kherson and Kherson region as soon as possible,” — Kudrytskyi added.
