Warm clothes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Odesa DJs to hold a New Year’s donation show on 202.4 FM

On December 30, for five hours, starting at noon, New Year’s Donation Show on 202.4 FM by Odesa DJs will be on air in Telegram. The purpose of the event is to raise money for warm clothes for Ukrainian defenders.

This was stated by radio host Pavlo Kozlov during a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“The idea to unite DJs to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine came to me a few weeks ago. We gathered 12 radio hosts to hold this unforgettable broadcast, where we will collect warm clothes for our defenders for various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These are warm fleece jackets and gloves, chemical hot water bottles, heaters, shoe dryers – everything the guys in the trenches need right now. Especially at our foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River, where our friends are now,” said Pavlo Kozlov.

The New Year’s donation show was announced on social media in advance. That’s why people started donating money even before the volunteer marathon started, the DJs say.

“We are constantly launching teasers for our event on social media. As of now, we have raised 40 thousand hryvnias before the broadcast has even started. We are fueling the interest of our listeners and partners. I think this figure will be ten times higher. I understand that everyone is tired. That you want to rest. But on New Year’s holidays, we should always think about those who are having a harder time and who are protecting us. That’s why even 30-50 hryvnias for our marathon will save our soldiers,” said DJ Sasha Korin.

This is the first time in many years that radio DJs have gathered as a single friendly group. They have all been working in different places for a long time and have hardly communicated with each other in recent years, but now they have decided to repeat the past to help the Ukrainian army.

“Once upon a time, we all worked together at radio. And we want to get together to repeat those good waves of the old days and put that drive on the air to do a useful thing for the people who keep us calm. It’s cool that we’re getting together. That we have the opportunity to see each other and broadcast like we did almost 30 years ago. For example, DJ Alex started working at radio exactly three decades ago,” said radio host Roman Serbin.

The “New Year’s Donation Show on 202.4 FM” will be available at https://t.me/radioforukraine from 12.00 to 5.00 PM on Saturday, December 30.
