Veterans can now buy housing in any region – UAH 5.5 billion (approx 134.6 mln EURO) has been allocated for this in the 2023 budget

This money is planned to be spent by the end of the year. Yulia Laputina, minister of veterans’ affairs of Ukraine, told this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

She said that these 5.5 billion hryvnias were allocated as a subvention to local authorities for the purchase of housing for veterans.

“The queues for the purchase of housing are formed by representatives of the regional authorities, we allocated funds according to their needs, which veterans received on their bank accounts and had to purchase housing within a year. Now we have met the needs of our defenders because we realize that many of them have moved to other regions. And now they can buy housing in any region,” – the official said.

She also added that previously, if a veteran did not buy a home within a year, the allocated funds were returned to the budget. Now, this period has been extended for another six months after the lifting of martial law.
