“Ukrainian Physicians in Occupied Territories Are Paid Salaries; Their Work Is Not Deemed to Constitute Cooperation with the occupier,” Ministry of Health
The healthcare system keeps working. Since the war had started, over UAH 50 billion was transferred under the medical guarantees program to make all payments and make sure salaries were paid.
Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health, reported this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Every month, over UAH 8 billion on average is spent on salaries. We keep paying medical personnel in the occupied territories as well. However, it becomes more and more difficult to do so with every passing day because russia forces them to cooperate with the occupying regime,” the Health Minister said.
Viktor Liashko emphasized that physicians and medics in the occupied territories who keep saving lives are not deemed to be the occupiers’ henchmen.
