No two wounded servicemen are the same, even if their wounds are identical
For effective rehabilitation, it is necessary to “include” the fighter in the process. This requires doctors to adopt a comprehensive approach. After all, wounds received by a soldier can be both psychological and physical, and they must be treated simultaneously. Serhii Kryzhanovskyi, Chief Doctor at a rehabilitation center, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The idea of multidisciplinary, or as it’s sometimes called multicomponent, rehabilitation lies in bringing together specialists from various fields, such as neurologists, traumatologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitators, psychologists and many others in a comprehensive way.”
The rehabilitation itself mostly depends on the injured serviceman. If the fighter is motivated to work, the result will be prompt and positive. Currently, 16 soldiers can receive support at the rehabilitation center at the same time. The process lasts about two weeks and is a rather intensive course of multidisciplinary rehabilitation provided by doctors of various specialties, Serhii Kryzhanovskyi, Chief Doctor at a rehabilitation center, said during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
