Ukrainian businesses contribute to development of advanced Turkish fifth-generation aircraft
Ukrainian firms are playing a role in the development of an advanced Turkish aircraft, specifically the Kaan fighter.
Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Türkiye, made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Ukrainian companies are engaged in the development of critical components including the engine for the promising fifth-generation Kaan fighter, and several Ukrainian firms and developers are involved in its component development. We are not disclosing specific safety-related details at this time,” Bodnar stated.
According to Bodnar, this cooperation holds promise, potentially piquing the interest of the Ukrainian Air Force in the future. It may also foster cooperation in the production of new drones within Ukraine.
“This represents a promising collaboration that could potentially attract the Ukrainian Air Force’s interest once the aircraft is operational. It might also pave the way for joint efforts in manufacturing new drones within Ukraine, anticipated to be facilitated by the forthcoming completion of the Baykar Makina plant in the country,” stated Vasyl Bodnar.
