Ukraine sets up its own production of 122 mm and 152 mm shells, as partner countries run low on their supply — Ukroboronprom

After Ukraine’s partner countries ran out of almost all stocks of 122 mm and 152 mm shells, our country set up its own production. Nataliya Sad, Spokeswoman of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“We set up the production of much needed 122 mm and 152 mm caliber ammunition. They are in short supply because the partner countries, mostly of the Warsaw Pact, which had these shells in their warehouses, already ran out of their stocks a long time ago. After the start of the great all-out war, we were able to buy out, clean out warehouses almost completely. The need arose: where to get this ammunition for the future? That is why there was a need to set up production on the territory of Ukraine, as well as at the facilities of NATO member countries. These are rounds with full charge, not just a shell. This is what enables our artillery to fulfill the assigned tasks,” — the Spokeswoman said.
