Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigations detains wanted Roman Hrynkevych

Another person involved in the case of low-quality military uniform supply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Hrynkevych, was detained while trying to illegally cross the state border.

Andriy Kostin, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“Everyone remembers the recent high-profile case where there was reasonable articulable suspicion in which a “notorious” Lviv businessman and his accomplices were served with a ‘notice of suspicion’ of supplying low-quality clothing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for one billion hryvnias. Four of the defendants are currently in custody, and the fifth was detained this morning in Odesa in an attempt to organize an illegal border crossing. The fifth one has already been put on the wanted list,” said the Prosecutor General.

At the same time, Oleksii Sukhachov, Director of the State Bureau of Investigation clarified that Roman Hrynkevych, who evaded pre-trial investigation, was detained in Odesa at 7 am on Monday, January 22;

Today, Sukhachov added, he will be brought to court for a measure of restraint to be imposed.
