Ukraine’s power grid expands with additional 114 MW of capacity – Vitalii Kim

The Tylihul wind farm has started operating in the Mykolaiv region. In particular, the first phase of the current installed renewable energy capacity of 114 MW was launched.

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, made the relevant announcement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“On Thursday, the first stage of the Tylihul wind farm was launched. It’s 19 wind turbines with a total capacity of 114 MW. The project was started before the war but resumed in March 2022. And as of March 2023, all during the invasion, 6 turbines were installed, and now it is commissioned. That is, an additional 114 MW of capacity and green power generation for Ukraine’s power system, and this was done during the war,” he said.

Vitalii Kim emphasized that the construction of new facilities during the ongoing invasion is a necessary aspect, especially when it comes to the country’s energy security.
