Ukraine’s fuel market has undergone revolutionary changes: supplying fuel from the US and having the unbreakable logistics system created — Serhii Kuiun

In January 2023, Ukraine began large supplies of American diesel fuel, making significant changes to its fuel logistics system. Serhii Kuiun, Director of A95 Consulting Group, spoke about the details during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform. 

“There have been revolutionary changes: there has never been [American] fuel in Ukraine. Currently, there is also fuel from Taiwan, India, and the Netherlands. In addition, the logistics system has changed radically. Before the war, the supply routes were mainly the rail and sea, but now 40% is road transportation fuels. These are thousands of fuel tankers that are impossible to interrupt. From a security point of view, it’s an unbreakable and resilient chain.  You can bomb an oil depot, an oil refinery, or hit a railway station. But there is nothing you can do with thousands of fuel trucks. The fuel tanker fleet has grown thrice over the past year. This revolutionary system established itself in November-December when there was a burst in the use of gasoline generators,” said Kuyun.
