Ukraine’s and US religious organizations establish cooperation for the sake of peace in Ukraine
The Razom for Ukraine Charitable Foundation has brought together representatives of various religious organizations from the United States and Ukraine to work together to ensure Ukraine’s victory and bring peace.
The main goals and work in the area of interfaith cooperation were discussed during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“We realize that this is a war not only for Ukraine. Many countries and people have the same enemy. And it is no longer about nationality and religion. That is why we need to unite those we share the same vision of what is happening with, the same perception of the vision of victory, what justice is, what is the punishment for this evil that is happening now,” emphasized Evelina Kurilets, Director at Razom for Ukraine Charitable Foundation.
At the same time, Sheikh Rustam Gafuri, Deputy Mufti of Ukraine of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, representative of the AUCCRO, emphasized that interfaith dialogue has now existed for many years. It provides an opportunity for assistance directly within Ukraine and contributes so that such assistance comes to Ukraine from outside.
The importance of interfaith international cooperation, he noted, also consists in the fact that it allows to convey truthful information to opinion leaders and politicians, particularly in the United States and other countries.
“We need to achieve not just a short-term peace, but a just peace, after which we will have a guarantee of security, and protection, and the enemy will not dare to attack us again. Therefore, our goal is to work together for the benefit of society. And we hope that every person, every one of us, can also be a mouthpiece to convey to a broader audience the truth about the large-scale aggression, the bloody war our people are dying in,” he emphasized.
It is worth noting that in October, the Ukraine Action Summit, to be held in Washington for the third time, will be attended by representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. They will have the opportunity to meet and negotiate with senators, among others.
