Truckers protesting in Poland used to work in belarus and russia, but never reoriented their business – Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers

In addition to a number of other aspects, the Polish truckers who are currently on strike at the border checkpoints are essentially violating Article 65 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which expressly states there can be no obstacles to the movement of capital and money. However, it is clear that they are not fully aware of some legislative acts. Furthermore, there is information that some of them previously worked in belarus and the russian federation, but have not reoriented their business.

Volodymyr Balin, Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“There are many questions, because they (Polish protesters – Ed.) are not fully aware of some general legislative acts regarding the situation with Ukraine, with transportation, and how the electronic queue functions here. Because I heard a lot of different wishes, for example, to open a separate queue for empty cars at Yahodyn. We don’t mind, but today there are four lines for empty cars in Yahodyn. That is, people do not really understand what is happening there. According to our information, they used to work in belarus and russia, as of now they have not reoriented their business and have come here to protest for a while, maybe even earn some money,” Volodymyr Balin noted.
