Training on primary psychological aid for military personnel and their family members will be held in Odesa on the 3rd-4th of May

The event will take place on May 3-4 in the administrative center of the Odesa regional council (Kanatna, 83) with the support of the charity fund “Zhytteva opora Ukraini” (Life Support Ukraine). Valery Oslavskyi, organizer of the psychological assistance program of the Pacific University of Seattle, told about this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“The goal of this event is to rebuild communications with people affected by the war and provide assistance. The PTSD that awaits people will only increase. And we are waiting for social workers, doctors, military chaplains, teachers. All of us need these skills. The training is for everyone, it is free. After graduation, each participant will receive an international certificate,”  – Valery Oslavskyi said.

As Ihor Skrypnichenko, adviser to the honorable consul of Ukraine in the USA and one of the authors of the training “First aid for psychological trauma”, added, last year a similar event was held in West of Ukraine, 830 people attended the trainings. The program is already working and has proven its effectiveness.

“We are all thinking about how to rebuild the new Ukraine. But before we restore Ukraine, we need to renew the personality of every Ukrainian. As the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, said, let’s restore a person, and he/she will restore everything. Therefore, together we will learn the art of being closer. We will learn so that every place where we live becomes a place of recovery,” – Ihor Skrypnychenko said.

He also added that the training on May 3-4 is only the first stage. In the second, more in-depth knowledge will be provided by other specialists from the USA.

To register for the training, fill up the form.
